David Williams, (c) SHL, Summer Assistance
1968 - 69 approx.
He came to the job knowing nothing. Clem McCann taught him a lot, including navigation. He left Bermuda for Australia, and went to work on prawn boats, quickly rising to Captain. These are large ocean going ships that trawl for a month at a time, not the sort of shrimp boats you see in coastal towns in the US. Clem and the SHL had quite an impact!
David recounts some of his humourous (and not so humourous) experiences of his short time on Sir Horace Lamb.
