Perth Bermuda Experiment.
On March 1st 1960, RV Vema dropped six 200lb depth charges off the coast of Australia. These explosions were barely heard on the Bermuda hydrophones.
It was decided to try the experiment again, using three 300lb depth charges. The results were surprisingly better.
